The drama on screen paled in comparison to what Elvis met when trying to enter his room after a day of shooting. Throngs of Elvis lovers surrounded the hotel in hopes of getting a glimpse of Rock and Roll’s biggest star. In one particular instance, when the crowds had swelled to unmanageable proportions, Elvis was forced to enter The Roosevelt by climbing out the window of the building next door, crossing the roof and entering the famed hotel through a fire escape.
